The girls in 5th and 6th class took advantage of some fine September sunshine to explore the historical aspects of Athenry. The walking tour took in the following historical points of interest in Athenry:
- Northgate with its Murder Hole
- Athenry Castle
- The Priory (The Abbey)
- Market Cross (at Market Square)
- 1916 Garden of Rememberance
