School Year 2023 / 2024:

  • Please find school calendar for next school year attached
  • School will re-open on Wednesday August 30th for all pupils
  • Note: the school has deliberately decided to close for a full week in May, so that families who wish to take their holidays can do so without their children having to miss days at school. We hope that this opportunity will be availed of, if required, and more importantly we hope that it will help to improve attendance in 2023 / 2024, most especially in term 3.

Book Lists:

  • The Department of Education are funding the cost of all textbooks, workbooks and copies for all pupils.
  • In practice this means that the school will purchase all these items for all pupils and they will receive them on the first day of school (Wed Aug 30th).
  • The textbooks will remain the property of the school, as these will be re-used for pupils each year.
  • There are some other items which pupils will need for school, and these will be specified on a “Supplies list” which will be emailed to all parents in late June.
  • The usual €50 school costs fee will still apply, as this figure is used to cover photocopying, arts & crafts materials, school insurance etc. for the pupils

Junior Infants 2023 / 2024:

  • In June you will receive your child’s “Supplies list”
  • Next year’s Junior Infants are invited to come into the school on Tuesday August 29th from 8.50am to 9.50am to meet their teacher and their new classmates. There will be no other classes in the building on that day.
  • The Junior Infants do not need to wear the school uniform nor do they need to bring a school bag, for this hour. Parents are invited to gather in the school hall for this hour, where they can meet one another and have a chat with myself
  • Children who are joining other classes are also welcome to call into the school during this time on the same day to meet the principal and take a look at the school.

Standardised Tests:

  • Standardised Tests have been carried out in all the relevant classes. Results will be given as a Standard score, this is different to the STen score that would have been reported in the past.
  • Please find attached an explanation sheet giving you further information on these scores.
  • Your child’s results will be noted on their End of Year school report which will be available on Aladdin towards the end of June.
