SFI Discover Science and Maths award:

We have just received the news that Scoil Chroí Naofa have won another SFI Discover Science and Maths award!! Sincere thanks to Miss Tyrrell for compiling & submitting our “Log of Evidence” which showed all the great work that happened in all classes across the school. The judges were really impressed with our school and we got the following feedback:

“Congratulations to all at Scoil Chroi Naofa on achieving the SFI Plaque of STEM! Well done to everyone for the fantastic range of STEM work going on across the whole school. Your log shows learners of all ages engaging enthusiastically in hands on investigations, design and make and so much more. The work you have done for the Green Schools Flag shows your care and consideration for the environment and a sustainable future. By engaging with speakers and taking part in the National STEM weeks-including Science, Space, Engineering and Maths the school is providing unique opportunities for learners. We were so impressed with the variety of activities, and how they are completed, with plenty of hands on engagement-from the superb video of Building Robot Artists, to slime, vomiting pumpkins and designing paper straws with skills that Elon Musk would envy! The work you are doing in developing learners’ skills is clear and there are no doubt some budding scientists and engineers in the school. Keep up the great work and well done everyone!”
